For our study trip group, we interviewed both Improv 4 Charity and Habitat for Humanity. In Improv 4 Charity, there was a group of college students that promoted shows and made theatrical events to raise money to give for other charity groups that serve beneficial purposes. The people that have been in the group have served for about 2-3 years at most and have had experience with theater in high school but wanted to make an impact and continue their journey through college by creating their group. To serve as an impact in the world, they thought that raising money for other student led groups for charity was the best way possible since it is community-building and also community-serving.
The other study trip group that we have interviewed, was Habitat for humanity and what their group serves as a purpose is to build affordable houses and give housing options. This also eliminates interest loans. The people that have been serving in this group have been working for half a year and some, four years. The reason why this group was created was because they wanted to give back to their community and seeked non-profit organizations as well as wanting to do something "hands-on" for community serving.
